Vision and Mission
Vision
"The vission of Kareepra Gramapanchayat is to build a self-reliant local territory that ensures equal justice and better living standards for all sections of society through participatory and sustainable development."
Panchayats do not just envision themselves as institutions that build roads and bridges; rather, they aim for:
A safe society free from poverty and hunger.
A community where women, children, the elderly, and marginalized sections receive equal care and consideration.
Eco-friendly development that protects and preserves natural resources.
Mission
To turn this vision into reality, Panchayats undertake the following core tasks and responsibilities:
Infrastructure Development: Ensuring everyone has access to basic amenities like clean drinking water, roads, streetlights, sanitation, and housing.
Services at the Fingertips: Providing certificates, licenses, and welfare benefits to citizens in a transparent, hassle-free, and time-bound manner (primarily through e-governance).
Health and Education: Upgrading the standards of primary health centers, Anganwadis, and government schools to ensure quality services for all.
Local Economic Development: Boosting local employment and income generation through agriculture, animal husbandry, small-scale industries, and self-help groups like Kudumbashree.
Waste Management and Cleanliness: Collecting and scientifically disposing of waste from households and establishments through initiatives like the Haritha Karma Sena (Green Action Force).
Gramasabhas and Public Participation: Strengthening the process of decentralization of power, where developmental projects are directly discussed and decided upon by the local citizens.
